Tell us the most challenging part of being a mom and how do you overcome it?
The most challenging part of being a mom is not knowing what my baby is thinking, I know it may sound silly but sometimes I try everything and she is still fussy or crying and I would love to get in that brain of hers just to see whats going on in there.
I overcome it with a lot of love and patience. Every baby is different. they all have their own unique personalities and my baby is required a lot of attention and entertainment, and has been like that since the day she was born. So it makes it hard to do what I have to do around the house and cater to her. So patience is the key.
give us one word that describes your mom style?
My mom style is love. Love is everything. A mothers love has no limits. Corinthians 13:4-8. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I love my daughter is unconditionally and with that unconditional love comes affectionate and with that affectionate comes secureness.
What do you do to give yourself some "me time"?
What do i do to give myself some me time…. Hmmm, let me think. I really don't have a lot of me time, actually hardly ever. But the time i did, i had my mother in law watch her so i can get my toes done. Another thing i do is read my books to my daughter.
Two tips for a new mom?
Tip 1: Don’t loose yourself. Mothers out there know how overwhelming motherhood can get. Im fortunate enough to have help and a good support system and its still tough not to get consumed in every day mommy stuff. For all the single mothers that have to work and then come home and take care if their little ones, try not to loose yourself and enjoy some time for yourselves you guys sure do deserve it.
Tip 2: Don't feel guilty for leaving your little one to go have mommy time. I struggled with this when I have to work or go to the store or when I do have a little bit of mommy time. It’s ok to get mommy time, it doesn't make you a bad mother. I promise.
